Fired up

Hello hello. Normally my silences are because I've nothing to share I feel wouldn't bore you even more than normal. These last few days I've been too busy to post, which has caused the same kind of apathy after the activity-spree you get when you've missed a week in your diary. If you've ever tried keeping a diary.

Before I delve into some of my more interesting recent happenings, I'd like to point to you to a post by a mind more concise and efficient than mine, re: the recent riots in Dublin. The last line expresses eloquently what would have been a three page tirade in my hands. "Scanger" may be absent from your vocabulary if you're not of Irish extraction, but you'll find it a valuable addition.

Recovery

Sitting here in front of the face-tanner, sipping Japanese green tea, listening to music - well worn music that has had meaning rub off on it, trying to convince my system that all is good and right with the world after a pretty serious party yesterday. If that sounds far to wholesome to be authentic, then ok, ok, I admit that a dirty Finnish potatoe-bacon-sausage hash preceded all this.
Marvellous.

What party? Well, our eight months late housewarming! Well at least, the housewarming was the excuse... A bit silly to require an excuse to gather so many fantastic people under one roof. I think we should throw "we think you're great" parties, and just be honest about the whole thing. Even after the event, with assorted party detritus littered across every flat surfaces, the apartment is noticeably tidier than usual. Sad but true.

It's damn cold again, and so clear and crisp it's like someone pinched the atmosphere. Cars have little icicle whiskers, and people are walking around with little puffs of breath perpetually in front of their faces, like un-inked speech-bubbles. Anyway, my point is, it's weather for sitting indoors, listening to music while sipping tea. It just feels right.
